Interviewer: So, you have been writing for a while. I would request you to describe your journey as an author.
Hasina Saiyeda:
Yes, I am writing for a while. I am a professional technical writer as well, so, writing is my job, you can say. I debuted as an author in early 2019 with a short story book, Melodies of Life. Fitting Into Life is my second book and first novella.

Interviewer: Who is your favourite novelist from the English Literature and why? Tell about your most loved novel too.
Hasina Saiyeda:
Many. I can’t name anyone in particular. Every writer gives huge effort in writing a book. From every novel I learn something or the other. I like detective novel and young adult novels the most.

Interviewer: Did you read so much of detective fiction? From where did you get the idea to write such an interesting book?
Hasina Saiyeda:
Yes. I do read so much of detective fictions. However, the idea of Fitting into Life was completely different from a detective book. It was completely an idea that came to my mind all of a sudden.

Interviewer: Well, Hasina, your book is a very interesting read for the young readers as well as those who love the detective and thriller fiction. I would like you to tell the readers what makes your book interesting.
Hasina Saiyeda:
First of all, it is NOT a detective fiction. It is a psychological fiction. The reader may find the book interesting because it covers a girl’s journey of getting fit into a normal life. She was a mental patient and she lost the hope of living. A group of her old friends met her all of a sudden and she explored few new things in life that helped her in getting interested in living again. It is a short and quick read so readers may find the plot interesting.

Interviewer: Is there any message which you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!
Hasina Saiyeda:
Yes, the writer always has message for the reader. Never lose hope. Stay strong because at the end of the day you are the person who understands you the most. And please support new authors by buying their books and reading them with equal interest as you read other books.

Interviewer: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.
Hasina Saiyeda:
Yes, Melodies of Life, a short story compilation, is my first book. Another book is coming in October. It’s a Young Adult Novel. More details will be given with time.

Interviewer: As a reader today, what would you prefer to read – a novel or a volume of poetry? Do you think that readership of poetry has fallen? I would like to know your views about it.
Hasina Saiyeda:
I basically don’t have much knowledge about poetry. I don’t like reading poetry much. I read novels. The readership of poetry has really fallen in recent times. However, now I see many young people showing interest in poems. I am also looking forward to read a few.

Interviewer: Please tell us about your previous book “Melodies of Life” in brief.
Hasina Saiyeda:
It is a short story book with six stories written from the perspectives of people of different age. All the stories show passion, love for something and self satisfaction.

Interviewer: Many thanks, dear Hasina for your time and this opportunity to have your views on my queries about your writing and ideas.
Hasina Saiyeda:
 Thanks to you too.
